Skin Care Tips to Avoid Dryness This Winter Season
Here are some pre-winter beauty tips for making your skin look and feel soft.
Apply Creamy Products:
Pack away those gel-based face washes, creams as well as make-up products and
opt for creamy ones. Cream-based products are generally oil-based and hence
form a protective layer on the skin that retains more moisture during chilly
days. These creams deeply moisturize the skin while nourishing it from within.
Don’t Avoid Sunscreen:
Most of us restrict the usage of sunscreens only for summer to protect the skin
from tanning and stop using it as soon as the autumn arrives. But not many know
that pre-winter sun too can be harmful for the skin. Therefore, it is advisable
to apply broad spectrum sunscreen with UV and PA+++ protection in winter on
your face and other exposed parts of body. For better protection, make sure you
apply the sun protection cream 30 minutes before stepping out of the house.
Apply Oil on the Body:
The importance of oiling your body becomes inevitable as the autumn breeze may
rob it of its natural moisture as soon as the fall season starts. A 10-minute
oiling session before your bath would suffice for the nourishment needs of the
skin. So, just catch hold of any baby or olive oil bottle and get started!
Performing this on regular basis is sure to keep your skin soft, supple and
smooth throughout the winter season.
Use of Conditioner:
To keep the lustre of the hair intact, it is good to use a conditioner which
has silicone to lock down the outer circle layer and seal in the moisture. You
may also try a homemade avocado mask which is perfect for dry and rough hair.
For this, mash the flesh of avocado with fork and add extra virgin olive oil to
make a mixture. Apply this smooth mixture and wash it off after 30 minutes.
This nourishing mask is enriched with essential vitamins, minerals and
softening agents for your hair to fight pre-winter harshness with ease.
Hydrate: Boost your beauty regimen by drinking lots of water irrespective of the season. It helps your skin stay young and hydrated by flushing out all the toxins of your body. If you are not very happy with the idea of gulping down the cold water, make sure to drink lots of warm or lukewarm water during the cold days.

Make Body Scrubs with Salt & Sugar at Home
Salt and sugar scrubs are one of easiest home treatments
that truly deliver. Not only is slathering sugar and oil all over your body
wickedly pleasant, but the exfoliating factor leaves skin refreshed, vibrant,
and as soft as a certain anatomical part of an infant.
Banana Sugar Body Scrub
When the bananas are starting to brown, grab those beauties and put them to use. This
one skips the oil and relies purely on the benefit of banana and the gently
abrasive sugar.
- 1 ripe banana
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract or your favorite essential oil (optional)
Smash ingredients together with a fork into a chunky goop.
Don't over-mash or it will become too thin. If you want a banana scrub for your
face, reserve some of the banana and mash it separately without sugar. In the
shower, pat the sugar mixture and gently massage over your body. For your face,
gently massage plain banana there, avoiding the eye area. Rinse off with warm
water.
Rosemary Lemon Salt Scrub
Ingredients:
- 1 cup kosher salt* (I used this infused salt, but you can use plain!)
- 1/2 cup pure organic almond oil (If you aren't making the infused salt and instead are using plain kosher salt, add the following to your mixture)
- The zest of one lemon
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme, leaves stripped from the stems.
Directions:
- Pour the salt into a clean, sterilized container with a tight-fitting lid.
- If you're using plain salt, add the lemon zest and thyme.
- Pour the almond oil over top and screw the lid on tightly.
- To use, just give the jar a stir to mix the oil and salt together, and scrub away in the shower!
- The scrub will keep for up to 6 months stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
Tomato Sugar Scrub
If you want the skincare benefits of tomato without
springing for pricey products, it’s easy to make your very own tomato scrub at
home using just a tomato and organic sugar! Michelle Phan shows you how in this
video:
Vanilla Coconut Brown Sugar Scrub
Coconut oil is subtly fragrant and slightly miraculous. This
one is a super moisturizer, and can practically double as dessert.
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Mix ingredients together. Rub on skin while in the shower,
massage, and rinse.
Sugary Minty Lip Scrub
For soft lips, this quick treatment is the ultimate
treatment to make you a smooth kisser. Blend a bit jojoba or olive oil with
caster sugar (also known as superfine sugar; you can also make your own by
putting regular granulated sugar in the food processor for a minute) and a
touch of peppermint or vanilla extract. Place some of the paste on your lips,
massage and lick off.
Lavender Salt Scrub
- Take 1/2 cup of coarse sea salt
- Pour in 1/3 cup of grapeseed oil (you can also use jojoba, almond or coconut - whatever you like)
- Give it a good stir
- Mix in around 1 tablespoon of dried lavender
- Add 16 drops of lavender essential oil (or more/less depending on how smelly you like it)
- Mix again
- Pot it up, add a pretty label if you like and start scrubbing!
This makes quite a coarse scrub. You can also add some finer
sea salt if you want to mix it up a bit. It probably goes without saying, but
please don't use this scrub if you have any open cuts! That wouldn't be very
clever.
Citrus Salt or Sugar Scrub
This will wake you up, great for the morning shower or after
sports.
- 1/2 cup sea salt
- 1/2 cup oil of your choice (jojoba, almond, olive, whatever)
- 1 teaspoon citrus zest (lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit or a mix)

8 Skin Care Tips for Indian Men
Simple & Effective Skin Care Tips for Indian Men
Indian men
usually take grooming very “lightly”. They hardly pay any attention to their
skin, and much less to any tips they come across. This habit is ruining their
skin and body as a whole. The aftereffects of neglecting your skin show up only
at a later stage in life. If proper care and easy daily habits of skincare are included in everyday life,
the adverse aftereffects can be avoided for sure.
Here are 8 skin care habits that will make man’s skin glow:
Drink Lots of Water:
Heard this a million times? Now it’s really time to

toxins and cleanse it.
Use Face Scrub That Suitable
for Your Skin Type:
Different skin types have different scrubs for it. Using
the appropriate face scrub for your
skin will help your skin look cleaner and lighten it up. Using aloe vera gel all over the face can get
you a clean glowing skin for sure.
Use Sunscreen When Going
Out In the Sun:
India experiences a harsh sun, which is why it is essential
to use a sunscreen when stepping out. Use a good SPF sunscreen to keep the skin safe from damages by sunlight. Avoid
being in the sun for long and even if you do, make sure you reapply sunscreen
after every few hours.
Apply Moisturizer Multiple

Using a moisturizer will definitely help keep your skin

If you are not having enough sleep, then you are surely
